MS Plans Inside Examiner Certification (June 12-14, 2019)
Expires After: Does not Expire

This certification qualifies you to handle claims as an inside examiner for MS Plans.

Course Time: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Location: CATI Training Facility at 3109 Skyway Circle North, Irving, TX

Inside examiners wishing to handle claims for MS Plans (Mississippi Windstorm Underwriting Association and Mississippi Residential Property Insurance Underwriting Association) must complete training and certification specific to MS Plans. First-time certification must be completed in-person and renewed annually either online or in-person.

Examiner certification includes a one-day session covering policy review and scoping/estimating guidelines with a two-part assessment (knowledge and application). Examiners who pass both parts of the assessment are invited to complete self-paced online training on InsuranceNow (SurePower) claims management system to complete the certification.

If you do not pass the assessment on the first day, you must retake the class (at no additional charge) before completing the online systems training.

Note: Adjusters wishing to handle field claims only should register for the one-day Field Certification instead (do not register for both unless you wish to certify for both)

This certification session assumes that you already have solid experience as an inside examiner and are proficient at file review, coverage analysis, and claims systems. The class will focus on MS Plans-specific coverage and estimating guidelines as well as the InsuranceNow claims management system.

Our commitment to MS Plans is to provide top-notch, experienced adjusters for the account.

In order to enroll, adjusters must be on the U.S. Adjusting roster and have active, verifiable experience as an inside examiner for a minimum of two years. Adjusters without the requisite experience may request a waiver of the requirement from their manager. If you are not currently on the U.S. Adjusting Services roster, click here to apply.

You will be asked to complete an objective knowledge exam covering policy information, estimating guidelines and our service level agreements, as well as an application exam which will assess your accuracy and proficiency with file review. A score of 70% is required on both portions to pass. Adjusters who successfully complete these assessments will be invited to complete self-paced online training on InsuranceNow (SurePower) claims management system to complete the certification. The MS Plans certification is rigorous and currently has a pass rate of 70%.

If your experience or technical skill level are not yet where this account demands, we encourage you to consider taking CATI's Adjusting 101, Xactimate 28 or Advanced Residential Scoping classes to to ensure you are fully prepared.

You’ll take using our onsite structural & damage mock-up spaces to estimate actual roofs, elevations, drywall repair and flooring materials to the next level.  An A-game property adjuster has to identify grade & quality on construction materials like roofing, flooring, windows, drywall textures, and ceiling & wall finishes to write a proper on-site estimate.  The number of experienced adjusters we see come through CATI who aren’t making these distinctions is… well, very good news for you!

When you complete the Advanced Scoping course you WILL without doubt have the hands-on experience & training you need to be knowledgeable & competitive in this industry.

  • You've got some adjuster experience but you want to sharpen your skills...
  • You're a seasoned adjuster who understands the value of training to stay razor sharp...

It doesn't matter...

If you're a hands-on learner ready to continue your climb toward mastery in residential construction methods & materials identification, and best practices in scoping & estimating, then Advanced Scoping is the best training & development money and time you'll ever invest

Every month national carriers send their adjusters & examiners to CATI for training because they trust our instructors, mock-up facility, content, and professionalism to be the best their money can buy.  Industry executives & claims managers have taken Advanced Scoping and reported being better in their roles because of it!

Some of the benefits of this course are:

  • You produce more accurate estimates in less time
  • You're more marketable & hireable in a super competitive market
  • You'll have fewer mistakes & kickbacks on your estimates
  • You'll experience quicker cycle time on estimate completion
  • You'll learn to confidently scope on-site

It's immersive.   And it's intensive because you gain more hands-on training & experience using the methods & techniques you use in the actual job

There's tons of competition in this industry.  And claims loads can be brutal, making the turnover rate for the average adjuster high

So don't be average!  Excel despite the challenges & competition and make this an extremely lucrative career for you by making the decision to invest in yourself and train, train, train

You will learn how to:

  • Understand & identify methods and materials identification for drywall, paint, flooring, finished carpentry, cabinetry, exterior & roofing repairs

Thank you both for sharing your knowledge with us, and being patient with us as we were learning.  This week of scoping with you guys has taken my confidence from a 3 to about a 7.  I still have lots of room for learning and improvements along the way, but this course was extremely helpful.

Stacey S, Independent Adjuster

As a new adjuster the main takeaway I wanted from this class was to be much more confident in accepting a future deployment as a result of being much more confident in my Xactimate abilities.  Jorge & LW gave me exactly that.

Ben M, Independent Adjuster

LW & Jorge: Thank you for your help.  You're both awesome and it was a pleasure getting to know you.  I wouldn't even consider looking elsewhere for my future training.

As a new adjuster the main takeaway I wanted from this class was to be much more confident in accepting a future deployment as a result of being much more confident in my Xactimate abilities.  Jorge & LW gave me exactly that.
